Original Poem of The Week

As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, I have a ton of poems. A lot of pages and journals filled with poems. So why not share them? I don’t really have titles for them. But here’s the first one.

The streets are empty, the lights are burning out.
There’s no where to go, no people, no sights, no sounds.
My souls firing up, it’s ready to set me free.
So it’s time to set out, for the road is calling me.

I’m more than a hopeless wanderer, here at night.
Though everything’s barren, my thoughts they take flight.
I’m more than a hopeless wanderer, here at night.
Though I’m traveling on, and don’t know where I’m going.

These houses look so different, at this time.
People asleep, all resting ‘til the morn.
But these voices inside, keep waking me up.
I need to get out, I need to keep moving on.

I’m more than a hopeless wanderer, here at night.
Though everything’s barren, my thoughts they take flight.
I’m more than a hopeless wanderer, here at night.
Though I’m traveling on, and don’t know where I’m going.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted; this time of year is hectic and busy. Soon though I will sit down and write a genuine post again! Until then, happy holidays!

  1. Emma, I believe the road that is calling you is God calling you for His service. Though you don’t know where you’re going now, He has a plan for you. He gave us life so that we can help others see the light of Jesus, and your many talents are gifts to take you so many ways and places. I’m praying for you as you journey this life. I love you!!
