Well Folks, I’ve Decided To Change Up My Blog!
I wanted to give you all a heads up on what is to come with my blogging endeavors. I’ve been working hard for the past couple of weeks to make this blog space a good place for me to put out my writing. But I realized I also wanted to put myself into the blog too! Let me give you a few updates on what my changes entitle!
1. My Own Domain
This is super exciting news for me and it’s something I have wanted to do for a long time! I finally splurged and convinced myself to pay the yearly fee to buy my own domain! To find my website, it’s as easy as knowing my name. No, seriously, my web address is literally my name. How much simpler could it get?! Forget the silly “www.something.wordpress.com” stuff. It’s now my own! Ahh so much excitement you guys and gals! emmawelling.com. That feels so awesome to share with you all!
2. New Blog Title
I decided to drop the whole “adventure” thing, especially since I wasn’t ever really going on adventures. This site is now called The [Ab]normal One. It’s easy to feel like your differences set you apart from the world. And I know for a fact that mine do. So I want to explore that more with this blog, and have my title actually correlate with what I write about. If you want to read more about it, check out my about page.
3. Consistent Posting
I know I have promised this before, but I am finally fully commiting myself to this blog! Since I’m kind of changing what I am writing about, I don’t feel as much pressure to write long, eloquent posts anymore. My goal is to post twice a week: Mondays and Fridays. However as of now that is subject to change. I might eventually do Tuesday+Thursday, but I’m still working out all the details. Nonetheless, expect two posts a week!
4. Contact Ways Improved
I have two ways you can contact me, now! And one of them is a super cool opportunity! First off, along with my new domain, you can also email me just from knowing my name! I would love to hear from all of you and get better connected with my blogging community. I will admit that I am extremely behind on my social networking game, but if I do too much at once, I might explode…it happens. hah. Anyway, feel free to contact me by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org. And the other awesome way to contact me brings me to my fifth point…
5. Guest Blog Post Opportunities
I recently had the amazing opportunity to write a guest post for the website, The Mighty. It was about my anxiety; I wrote it in the form of a letter to my anxiety. You can check it out here! I had such a great experience with it and decided I wanted to open that up on my blog too! I don’t know if I’ll get any submissions, but in the case that I do, I wanted to make the opportunity accessible! All you have to do is email your submission to: email@example.com. I look forward to hopefully working with some of you!
That’s all I have for ya now, kids. Be on the lookout for my newest post later this week from your pal the [ab]normal one!
